The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has directed petroleum tanker drivers in Lagos State to withdraw services indefinitely from Monday, August 10 over failure of state government to fix deplorable roads, address constant harassment by hoodlums and extortion by security agents.
The oil workers said the issues have severely caused pains and harrowing experiences on the hapless drivers in the state for several months, despite complaints to appropriate authorities.
In a statement, yesterday, President of NUPENG, Williams Akporeha, noted that despite several complaints to the Lagos State Government, the situation continue to worsen, endangering the lives of its members.
