It’s cars throwback time on Autoxpat. Let’s see how many of these cars you will remember from back in the ’80s and ’90s. Oh, if you weren’t born yet as at those times, you might have never actually seen these cars before. Although we will advise you to go for car auctions and car shows to see some of them for real, they are really beautiful and holds memories.

Below we have made a list of the top 6 old cars from the ’80s and ’90s that were really the best in town and the only ones commonly found on the average Nigerian streets.

1. Range Rover Classic

Before the new range rover sports and beautiful Range Rover model you see today, there was once a model that rocked the Nigerian streets. It was the Range Rover Classic.

2. Mercedes Benz 560 SEL

The Mercedes Benz brand has always won the heart of Nigerians right from back then. See the beautiful Mercedes Benz 560 SEL of the ’80s.

3. Mercedes Benz 200/230 E

Yes, another Mercedes Benz model. You might have been wondering why almost every Nigerian Politician or celebrity has at least one Mercedes Benz car in their collection.

Do you think Nigerian’s started going crazy for the Mercedes Benz brand just recently? It has started long ago my brother/sister Lol.

So, now you know that we have always loved the brand and took pride in owning and driving at least one of their cars.

The Mercedes Benz 200 and 230 E models were like the Nigerian middle class and elites’ car back then.

You would rarely find any village king, chief, school principal or professor not owning one Lol.

4. Peugeot 404

The Peugeot 404 was also one of those cars loved by top Nigerian politicians and the likes but the old Peugeot 404 pick-up were even more popular and epic as they could be seen in many Nigerian streets around the ‘80’s period.

5. Peugeot 504

What a memory refresher, right?

Back then in the early ’90s, you would always hear people say something like “He drives a 504”, and you would keep wondering; What brand is the car?

Only a few people bothered to include “Peugeot” – which is the car manufacturer’s/ brand name when referring to this Peugeot 504 vehicle model back then Lol.

6. Peugeot 505

Just as you would obviously guess; Peugeot 505 was the later version of the initial Peugeot 504.

Those people who previously owned a Peugeot 504 started finding means to sell their cars and purchase the latest model which was the Peugeot 505 back then.

Back then, you will hardly find more than an F.M radio and A/C fitted in these old cars Lol.
