How was life at the beginning without a car? I dey always have one cabucabu on the other to drive, but there is difference between a car and a car. Life driving a car was terrible; it was always one journey to the mechanic or the other. One, problem with the kick starter, in fact it turned me to a mechanic because once I hear a sound I already know what the problem is, it was terrible but then I bless God. Everybody must have a story otherwise the story won’t be sweet.

What band was your first car? My first car was Mitsubishi Gallant 1979 modern with fur light. That was the first car I bought myself, but before then my uncle has given me a car, Mercedes Benz 2030. It was my grandmother’s car, my grandmother, when she passed on, gave it to my uncle and when I was getting married gave it to me, it was a car. I remembered there was a time the engine knock down in Ibadan and I was driving all the way back to Lagos and the people who wanted to toll the car kept charging me more than what I will use to buy the car so I said, Wo, we go hustle am reach Lagos. I drove the car to Lagos and drove it for more than two weeks before the car eventually backed up before I changed the engine that was the first car I drove.

How often do you service your car? Am one of those people who likes to drive strong cars because I service when I remember to service it, but is really bad. But luckily, I have a mechanic who put tags by the door and remind me that, Oga I never chop your money in a while, your car is due for service, so I tell him to come and service the car but left to me, I only service when the car starts coughing or doing something. Luckily, we now have mechanics that have gone a little bit more advanced. In the past when they are not sticking anything, na when the car die we service am.

Have you being involve / witness an auto crash / accident? In my driving life, I have been involved in two accidents. My first accident, I just took my car to the panel bitter, they just finish painting and doing the body work. I was driving out of Apapa and till tomorrow I don’t know what happened, I just heard gbam and the radiator start licking and I felt so terrible. But my second accident wasn’t as terrible as that and that is why I preach against people being tired and driving. Have done show for Monday, Tuesday went to Abuja on Wednesday, came back on Thursday, went back on Thursday for a gig on Friday and that was all night, came back to Lagos for a wedding, then after the wedding in the evening, I came to the Island for an event. On my way back I slept off on the steering, it was on the third mainland bridge.

What is your take on Auto Insurance? It doesn’t make a sense that you spend all that money to buy a car and you can’t track it, is not even about it being stolen, is for you to know where your car is at one point in time. I always preach it. If you can afford it, do comprehensive insurance and save yourself the entire headache to fight for your car been hit, no need to fight, if you have comprehensive insurance, it will take care of your car.

IF YOU DRINK DON’T DRIVE, IF YOU ARE TIRED PARK AND TAKE 5MINS NAP. USE YOUR SEAT BELTS. IS BETTER TO ARRIVE THERE SAFE THAN TO BE LATE. PLS BE SAFE
