MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) –One man was taken to the hospital after a car slammed into a house.

Memphis Police Department confirmed the man was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition after a vehicle crashed into a home in the 800 block of Claybrook Street Friday night. That man is now in stable condition.

Investigators said the vehicle crashed into the house, a second vehicle and a pedestrian.

According to witnesses, the victim was walking down the sidewalk when the car jumped the curb and hit the victim. The witness said the driver is a African-American man that was about 6 foot 2 inches tall and 210 pounds.

“I saw his face. He was actually cut all up,” she said. “His head was bleeding. He didn’t look good. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

It is unclear what caused the accident. The driver ran from the scene.
