Kenton Police Department and Ohio State Patrol responded to two accidents Friday along the same stretch of East Columbus street, within a few hours of each other, and under the same circumstances.
The first incident occurred around 11:30 AM at the exit of 1005 E Columbus St. and involved two vehicles. According to the report from the Ohio State Patrol, Charles Bayes of Forest attempted to exit the Kmart parking lot onto East Columbus Street and failed to yield to a car operated by Hershel Howell of Kenton traveling on Columbus Street. Damage occurred to both vehicles and a passenger, Lee Elaine Howell of Kenton, was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with possible injuries.
The second incident occurred around 2:15 PM at the exit of 1241 East Columbus Street and involved two vehicles with multiple injuries. The Kenton Police Department report states that a vehicle operated by Hanah Stansbery of Forest attempted to exit the Wal-mart parking lot onto East Columbus Street and failed to yield and the vehicle struck the passenger side of a Westbound vehicle operated by Heather Eatherton of Forest. 5 people where transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with possible injuries.
